Argan oil is made from the nuts of the Argania Spinosa tree, which only grows in Southwest Morocco, and has grown there for over 1 million years.
The oil extracted from the tree kernels is one of the rarest oils in the world due to the small and very specific growing area, which is now under the protection of UNESCO. It is now produced sustainably and traded fairly, and all of the oil sold today is produced by cooperatives that share the profits among the local women of Berber tribes. There are two types of Argan oil: cosmetic and culinary.
The oil has restorative and age-defying effects and is rich in vitamin E and effective antioxidants such as phenols and phenolic acid. It is also rich in carotenes, squalene, essential fatty acids, and 80% unsaturated fatty acids. It helps all sorts of skin conditions such as dry skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and wrinkles. This truly “miracle oil” has the natural ability to defend the skin against premature aging and UV exposure.
